Here is a 5 speed manual gearbox and transfer box removed from a range rover 2.5 diesel p38. This is in a good working condition and I drove the vehicle around the industrial estate that we are on and showed no signs of any issues at all and selected all gears. Unfortunately the radiator was leaking water into the lower oil cooler section for the gearbox and even though it drove fine when we drained the oil it came out like mayonnaise. I have drained as much of it out as I can but obviously the internals are still coated in it so it is either going to need a good flush out or fill it with oil and drive it for a short distance and then drain it out and change it again.
