Very rare 52 reg P38 – (I have yet to see another one on a 52) Started its life as a Specials Vehicle for Galloway Constabulary, it had the air suspension removed and coil springs fitted. The pipework, height sensors does seem to be still intact, the compressor and bags are the only things removed I believe, so could be swapped back quite simply I guess. It also underwent a full respray I believe, it started it life white but had a full professional respray by Land Rover Specials in a lovely blue colour. There is also a metal box in the boot which can be used to install a second battery, the cabling & terminals are still there but I havent used it. Full owners manual and some history, various service. And old MOT’s Grey leather electric interior – drivers memory function. Starts on the button, no overheating problems and sounds great, I have done quite a few trips with the caravan on the back and not once did it let me down – I managed to do just over 250 miles to a full tank towing. Doors lock/unlock on the key. All electric windows work correctly. Heated control functions all work – no book fault as most have. Coil spring suspension conversion 19 L322 alloy wheels, Rear tyres replaced 1k ago. New front and rear brake pads. New brake pipes n/s and o/s rear. Few issues:- Seats dont heat up, I did strip the drivers seat down and resoldered/heatshrinked the wires (common fault) – the drivers seat does now work Air con could prob do with a regas Few dinks here and there, but no rust anywhere on the body that I can see. Cruise control doesn’t work, I havent bothered looking but I believe the vacuum pipes are common for failing. I think there is bit of a whine – it does sound from the rear. It hasnt gotten worse in my ownership and Im driving it frequently so Im not entirely sure if its just normal P38 noise? Worse case it could be the diff or a wheel bearing, but it drives fine. Overall a car that is becoming more valuable and no doubt soon to be a classic.
