LUCKILY FOR ME I HAVE ALL PICTURES TO SHOW ITS NOT MY ENGINE. WE HAVE BEEN DISMANTLING P38s FOR AROUND 10 YEARS AND ALL ENGINES ARE TESTED THE BEST WE CAN BY DRIVING THEM AND RUNNING THEM FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME. IF AN ENGINE IS UNTESTED IT WILL SAY THAT IN THE DESCRIPTION. I WILL HELP ANYBODY WHO NEEDS IT BUT DONT TAKE ME FOR A MUG AS IT WONT HAPPEN. Here is a complete engine removed from a 1999 range rover 2.5 p38. This engine is in a very good used condition and showed 132k miles on the clock. The vehicle this engine came from came into us because of a gearbox issue where it would only stay in 1st gear and not change up. This engine is very sweet with no knocks bangs rattles etc. We ran the vehicle up to temperature and drove it constantly around the industrial estate that we are on for over half an hour in 1st gear and then it was left idling for a further half an hour and the engine showed no signs of any problems whatsoever and held perfect temperature. In our opinion this seems to be a lovely engine and is an excellent replacement. This is a complete engine with all ancillaries and wiring loom. PLEASE SEE MY OTHER ITEMS THANKYOU. The engine sounds very nice with no nasty knocks bangs rattles etc. We ran the vehicle up to temperature and drove it many times around the industrial estate and she showed no signs of any problems whatsoever apart from a slight diesel leak which looked like the leak off pipe to injector number one so that has been replaced. When we removed the engine we also noticed that one of the blades is missing from the fan so it would be best to put your fan on or replace it with another one. Other than this it seems a lovely engine and is an ideal replacement. REMOVED FROM AN AUTO TRANSMISSION. PLEASE SEE MY OTHER ITEMS THANKYOU. This engine is in a very good used condition and runs beautifully we ourselves maintained this engine when it was in the customers car it recently had a new viscous fan all new idlers new tensioner plus bracket and a new belt the car was showing 144k miles and drove superb this is the late engine that has the plastic inlet manifold not the aluminium please see pics. This is complete with wiring loom, high pressure injector pump and all ancillaries excellent replacement engine. There are 2 small bolts missing that hold the top cover on.
