Range Rover P38 4.6 HSE, 112900 Miles, Lovely condition for a 20 year old Range Rover, Private plate included in sale. The car has been very reliable for him and was his pride and joy. He even drove it to Tenby and back for a seven day holiday in last years souring summer heat covering 500miles with no issues whatsoever. The Range Rover is finished in deep Oxford blue pearl metallic with cream leather interior All in very good condition for a 20 year old truck. There are marks and wear as you would expect with a car of this age. It drives absolutely superb, strong engine and smooth gearbox. Still a great, retro looking car and still turns heads today. Viewing highly recommended and I can give you a drive. The car could benefit from some minor tlc, which reflects the price. Would benefit from an engine oil and filter change, the oil is a little dark and not been changed for a couple years due to not doing many miles. Rear brake pads getting low, brakes are still perfectly fine and safe. Bulb failure on left hand reversing light (does come up as warning on dash). 20 inch alloys look fantastic however, car does feel a little twitchy sometimes, forums and the Range Rover specialists who last worked on the car 2years ago say that all P38 range rovers with 20inch alloys suffer this called big wheel syndrome. As with all P38 owners with these 20inch wheels they would rather have the looks as they outlay the slight twitch sensation. Only one key available. Will require refurbishment, central locking still working fine when you use the key. All the air suspension works fine, had a new air suspension pump fitted 3 years ago and had some air bags fitted 3-4 years as well, on recent occasion when the car is not used for a few days it goes down a little on the drivers side however, as soon as the vehicle is started it immediately re- levels and continues to drive perfectly. Does not do it all the time and I’m sure with a keen ear I’m sure it will be no more than a leaky seal on one of the many pipes. A common Range Rover fault. This is a great, cheap opportunity to own a future classic as good ones like this are getting hard to find. Once again, viewing highly recommended (by appointment only). Range rover P38 4.6 HSE. Runs and drives very well. Auto gearbox changes fine not clunks/bangs. Air suspension fully working. Recently had a Oil, Filters, Plugs and leads changed. Recently had water pump, fan belt and coolant changed. Also recently had a reconditioned air suspension compressor fitted. Relisting for final time at what I regard as “giveaway” price. Text used in my previous listing is as below. I subsequently did a long trip and experienced the overheating issue despite the k-seal – as usual, I put heater on full (whilst still driving and before the overheat light went on) – engine temp needle went back to middle within about a minute and stayed there whilst heater on. Long trips therefore possible but involve hot/uncomfortable cabin! Ive factored bad points (pls read below) into the price here. I’m a genuine private ebayer (see my feedback) and I looked around carefully before settling on this p38. First time starter, pulls smoothly through rev range, gear changes perfect (no knock, bangs or jumps inc on kickdown). In daily use as family/allotment runaround (not one of those p38s that is left stood and withering away). MOT to 31 May 2019. Full service completed at 110k miles. Good stack of documentation. Includes MOT certificates going back to 2008 (only one missing) that confirm mileage of approx 5k a year. Receipts/stamps for services at 1k, 6k, 12k, 36k, 46k, 57k, 70k, 76k, 83k, 88k, 95k, 91k, 100k, 105k, 110k. Four of the first five services were Land Rover dealers. The nine most recent services were conducted by the same garage (who conducted 6k or 12k services regardless of actual mileage being less). Lots of other work to maintain the vehicle – this was the main reason I settled for this p38 over other ones. Front disks done at 101k miles, rear disks done at 95k. Plenty of wear left in pads. 2 keys present, both refurbished in recent months. Usual HSE refinements – Harmon Karden speakers (aftermarket Kenwood CD stereo), cream black piped leather throughout (in decent condition – no big rips, etc), detachable tow bar, privacy windows, original toolkit present. EAS works as it should, and on bags not nasty springs! I bought a spare front air bag for “just in case” and will include that in the sale also. Intermittent overheating issue arising on longer journeys. I top up coolant and if necessary run the heater to resolve the issue I do v few long journeys given fuel consumption of this 4.6L beast! Worst case is of course head gasket, so I have K-sealed, but this solution is as yet untested on long trips. Car has been completely reliable for shorter trips (I ran it 30+ mins the other day before K-sealing and needle didn’t go over half way), but if you have a long journey home from Nottingham it’s at your risk! Dings and scrapes in bodywork. Exterior isn’t in fabulous condition. I’ve tried to picture the more significant ones, and the pictures are a little flattering in terms of scrapes down the sides where I’ve driven through a narrow hedged lane. New general grabber tyres. Services at LR specialist 2k miles ago. Refurbished steering box recently fitted. New belts / plugs and leads. New link arm rubbers / track rods. New battery (2months ago). Special vehicles registration JVC. Headlining sagging (not badly). Localised patches of corrosion on tailgat lip and lower doors (nothing too major though). Passenger seat is ripped long the stitching on the base. Central locking is temperamental. Breaks could do with an overhaul but I will supply new disks and pads as part of the sale. Its a 21 year old car so expect the usual wear and tear. It is straight with all the mouldings, rear bumper etc not warped. Underside is solid with no advisories for corrosion on last MOT. Thank you for looking at my listing! The suspension has been changed to springs prior to me getting the car, which would suggest there was a fault with the original air system however I believe all the air suspension system has been left on the vehicle with exception to the air bags if it ever were to be changed back. All the tyres have also recently been changed and are as good as new, but the spare is flat. This vehicle starts runs and stops first time every time and drives as you would expect it to, steering wanders a little but thats fairly normal for these, oil always stays at the correct level though there are some small areas of seepage but never leaves a puddle, no knocks or bangs and gives a good ride, some welding has been done for the last MOT but passed with only a couple of minor advisories as pictured. Full service history from new. Even the mot inspector commented on how clean the underneath was. This is not your average p38.4.6 petrol. ANY INSPECTION WELCOME RAC / AA AT YOUR COST. Engine is spot on as is gear box. Just had full service , new plugs/ leads/ oil/ filters /, gear box oil /, both diff, s have had new oil. New battery, / new starter motor, /. Air bags have been taken off and replaced with brand new springs professional done. There are no warning lights on. New front wheel bearings /, brakes overall new fluid/. / Does not over heat. As well as new bars underneath/ new poly bushes. Everything works sunroof as well. Roof lining has been pinned up doesn’t look bad. The body work is in excellent condition for its age only a few marks as to be expected. There is no rust on bottom of tail gate. Has the original stereo and cd player in boot and it works off the steering wheel. The wheels have been refurbished. / All the leather interior is good / parking sensors in back bumper professional done with paper work. Low mileage 102325 with history and mot to prove. You can do your own checks as well. No tow bar has been fitted. She is ready to go with most of the major problems with p38 done. And I know they have problems as I have been a motor technician for 30. This is one of the good ones. Any more questions please feel free to ask. No time wasters, no asking what I want.
