Preston Grass hoppers ex rugby player record holder Roy Dransfield and his family have owned this Range Rover for many years owned by his Mum and Dad before him with it having senior drivers it has never been battered or abused and though owned by farmers it was never used for the fields /off roading. The miles for the year are low at 149251. The condition for the year is good though there are a few minor age retailed marks the worst being a rip in a seat. There are a couple of minor faults like a window switch (sticking window) number plates (due to change of reg). As you can see from the photos of under the bonnet the rocker cover is off but you see no chocolate gunk anywhere but yet the car on the way to the Grasshoppers just stopped dead. Head gasket to drop all the water just like that? I think may be oil cooler or some other point but thats why this is spares or repair needs towing away. Right now it is best offer but as this is worth fortunes in parts if we do not get a reasonable offer it will go in parts as space is no problem. M, O, T August 2019 last time very minor fail. RANGE ROVER 2.5DT. For sale is my beloved Range that I have owned for the past 8 years. The bodywork is in very good condition for it’s age and mileage. There is the odd small dent and small patches of corrosion but nothing that detracts from the overall look of the vehicle. Also a Range Rover Sport Grill and an Overfinch front bumper. It also features later model rear lights and L322 badges, that helped to give it a more upto date look. The wheels are 19 and from an L322 and were brand new when we had them fitted. All tyres have good tread. The worst part of the bodywork is probably the finish of the bonnet. The lacquer is wearing thin (see photo) in a couple of places. The engine is the 2.5 Turbo Diesel BMW unit with a 5 speed manual gearbox. The engine starts everytime and has had the’hot start’ kit fitted. The engine has been faultless all the time we’ve had the car although it has done 186k miles, I’m sure it will do many more yet! A new clutch, flywheel and clutch cylinder were fitted last year. The suspension was upgraded from air to springs last year. We were reluctant to convert to springs believing it would ride better on air but we were wrong and the springs provide a much nicer ride plus trouble free unlike the air system. The car is fitted with cream leather interior which is in very good condition apart from the drivers seat (see photo). Both front seats are electric with the driver’s having two memory settings (one for him & one for her). It has a tow bar fitted with working electrics. Things you should know……….. The private plates do NOT come with the car, it will be on an R plate which I be putting on. When you first put the ignition on a few faults pop up the display of the dash. The first being’ABS Fault’, this has always come up since owning the car & has never worried me. Fuse 4 Failed’, this fuse has been tested & is fine not sure what this is. SLOW: 35PMH MAX’, this pops up because the air suspension has been changed to springs. I’ve never got round to doing this as a quick beep from the dash never bothered me. The blend motors will need replacing as the heaters are on neither hot or cold. This is a common problem. The horn on the steering wheel stopped working so a switch underneath was fitted for the MOT. The MOT was done on 28th January 2017. A slight noise can be heard from the OSF when going round left bends. I strongly recommended viewing the car.
